Planes (2013) Movie Image

It must be pretty easy for Disney to crank out these “vehicle” movies. First “Cars”, now “Planes”. I expect they’ll be introducing “Boats” pretty soon. I can’t wait for all the “Titanic” puns.

Anyways, here’s your first look at the teaser trailer for “Planes”, featuring Dane Cook as the main voice. No word on who else is joining him, but this is a feature-length film, not a short film. Like most Disney movies, it’s about an underdog trying to rise above his station. You know, the same plot Disney has been cashing in on since they built the studio 500 years ago.

From above the world of “Cars” comes “Disney’s Planes,” an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.

In theaters this August 9th, 2013.

By the way, a Rob Zombie song in a Disney movie trailer? That’s just wrong on so many levels.

Actually, I like the movie that this teaser seemed to be selling before Cook’s character showed up (“Top Gun” where the jets themselves are the hotshot pilots).

And I thought I’d seen it all when Guns n Roses’ “Welcome To The Jungle” figured into “Megamind”
