Dane Cook to Star in Action Movie Dead Already

For some reason, a lot of folks have a problem with Dane Cook. Movie critics don’t seem to like him one bit, and have been brutal on everything he’s done. Me, I kinda liked the guy. He’s funny, and his stand-up shows are hilarious, especially when he starts flopping around onstage. Cook’s latest is “Dead Already”, a buddy-cop action movie.

“It’s got a really interesting take-off from the typical buddy cop movie which has been done in so many ways. This definitely had an element that was like, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen that before,’” [Dane Cook] said of the script [for "Dead Already"], which he’s currently looking at as a starring vehicle. “You got some crazy stunts and action sequences, but you got some comedy in there too. We’ll see if we can get it off the ground, but I certainly would like to play in that area.”

You know, I can actually see Cook in a buddy-cop action movie. It’s not like he doesn’t have the physique to pull it off, and a combination comedy/action would work for him. Maybe he can somehow fit a monkey and a van in there somewhere…
