Darren Aronofsky Developing Riverview Towers for AMC

Written by Nix | April 8th, 2008 | 0 Comments |

Not content to just baffle viewers on the big screen, wunderkind filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (pictured, left) is headed to the small screen with a new TV series for the AMC basic cable channel. His show, called Riverview Towers, will focus on a family that moves into an apartment building brimming with paranormal activity, reports The Hollywood Reporter. But forget about Aronofsky doing more than producing the series, because Patty Jenkins is in negotiations to direct the pilot, and the script is by John J. McLaughlin.

More:

Aronofsky and Watson previously set up the project with McLaughlin at HBO more than two years ago. McLaughlin is now writing a new script for AMC.

“AMC is committed to creating high-quality, cinematic originals that resonate strongly with our audience,” said Christina Wayne, senior vp original programming. “We will continue to build on the network’s original programming strategy and momentum with new series in development.”

Maybe Darren can convince Rachel Weisz (pictured, below) to do a guest-starring spot in the pilot. I hear he’s got some pull with her…
