Remember that trailer for “Deadfall”, from Austrian director Stefan Ruzowitzky and starring Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde as a brother-and-sister criminal pair who run across “Sons of Anarchy’s” Charlie Hunnam? You know, the trailer where Wilde is affecting some weird Southern accent? Yeah, that movie. Despite the impressive cast, it looks like Magnolia Pictures is dumping it onto Video on Demand today (via iTunes), with a limited theatrical release later next month. Can’t say I’m surprise, to be perfectly honest with you. Anyways, check out a pair of teasers and a new 3-minute feature for the film in case you were wondering about taking a chance on it on VOD later today.
Siblings Addison and Liza are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.
Also starring Sissy Spacek, Kris Kristofferson, Jason Cavalier, Kate Mara, Treat Williams, and opening in limited release December 7, 2012.
