Now I don’t know if the movie itself sort of saves the revelation that prison warden Joan Allen framed leading man Jason Statham just to get him into her prison so she can use him to win her death race, er, races, but the trailers sure spells that plot point out pretty clearly. Another case of a movie trailer spoiling the fun, or stating the obvious? You decide. (If, you know, you end up seeing the movie, I mean. Otherwise, well, nevermind.) In any case, here’s a red band trailer for “Death Race”, starring Statham as our brooding and driving hero, and Allen as his ice queen bitch of a villain. Nothing you haven’t seen before, except a couple of instances of foul language, including Joan Allen getting all ghetto with that dirty mouth of hers, which, I gotta admit, kinda turned me on.

Ex-con Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) is forced by the warden of a notorious prison (Joan Allen) to compete in our post-industrial world’s most popular sport: a car race in which inmates must brutalize and kill one another on the road to victory.
