Denzel Washington for The Taking of Pelham One Two Three Remake

Denzel Washington apparently really likes working with schizo director Tony Scott, a director most known for his seizure-inducing camerawork in films like “Man on Fire” and “Deja Vu”, because according to Entertainment Weekly, the actor is currently in negotiations to star in the remake of “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three”, which is being helmed by Tony Scott. The remake would be based on a 1974 movie of the same name, which originally starred Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, and Hector Elizondo. The original premise found armed men calling themselves Mister Blue, Green, Gray, and Brown taking a subway car hijack and demanding ransom. In the remake, Denzel Washington would play a cop who has to stop the hijacking.

If Washington does come on board, this will be this fourth collaboration with Scott, the two having previously worked together on “Man on Fire”, “Deja Vu”, and the submarine thriller “Crimson Tide”.
