Denzel Washington is a bad man in director Antoine Fuqua’s “The Equalizer.” It’s a good thing, then, that there are even badder people in need of having their asses kicked, because that’s exactly what Washington’s character will be doing lots of in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the ’80s TV series of the same name.
In the flick, Denzel plays “a former black ops commando who faked his death for a quiet life in Boston. He comes out of his retirement to rescue a young girl, Teri, and finds himself face to face with Russian gangsters.”
“Kick-Ass’s” Chloe Moretz will play Teri, the girl in need of saving. Which is amusing given that, well, Moretz played Hit-Girl in the “Kick-Ass” movies, and I don’t think anyone is going to confuse Hit-Girl with someone who needs saving.
Anyways, the film co-stars Marton Csokas, Bill Pullman, Melissa Leo, Haley Bennett, Vladimir Kulich, and is due September 26th.
