Details About the Two Stargate Movies: Ark of Truth and Continuum

Details about the two upcomng direct-to-DVD Stargate movies have been well known, but just in case you still don’t know it, here they are: “Stargate: The Ark of the Truth” will take place immediately after the cliffhanger ending of Season 10, the series’ final season, and wrap up the Ori storyline. (Stargate fans know that the Ori were a bunch of Muslim Jihadist-like badasses that wanted to convert the galaxy or kill us trying.) The second movie, “Stargate: Continuum”, would be a stand-alone movie. Plot below.

SG-1 attends the execution of Ba’al, the last of the Goa’uld system lords, when Teal’c (Judge) and Vala (Black) inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter (Tapping), Daniel (Shanks) and Mitchell (Browder) race back to a world where history has been changed: The Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities of what’s happened, a fleet of Goa’uld motherships arrives in orbit, led by Ba’al; his queen, Katesh (Vala); and his first prime, Teal’c. SG-1 must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa’uld.

I’m looking forward to the end of “Stargate: SG1″, which may be odd to say especially since I’m a fan of the series. But the last few seasons just haven’t been that good, with a couple of good, stand-alone episodes shining through, like the recent one where SG1 is trapped in a museum and assumed to be rebels. Or the one where Mitchell goes to his high school reunion. Basically, every episode that didn’t have anything to do with the tired Ori storyline was good stuff.

The Ori stuff…man, that was just awful.

I have been watching and always anxiously waited for following episodes with great interest. I very much like the scientific theories put into practice in these series of stargate sci-fi. As a Muslim I am offended to the allusion of the Ori as “a bunch of Muslim Jihadist-like badasses”. I know my religion and I have never compared the two in this derogative manner. I will still continue to watch Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis series though. I hope that the stargate series does not end for long time to come. No offence intended to anyone. Hope to read your positive comments.

    Hi all!
I thoroughly enjoy watching all the Stargate episodes including the original movie (except for one or two explicit scenes). However I feel offended by the allusion to “a bunch of Muslim Jihadist-like badasses”. I am a Muslim and I have never looked at Muslim as being compared to the above. I will continue to enjoy all the Stargate episodes and movies to come and give them high ratings as compared to other SCI-FI programs.
I hope the producers keep on rolling more episodes.

I appreciate the review but how dare you compare the Muslims to the Ori and refer to us as ‘Jihadist-like badasses’. Sheer Ignorance..

umm i disagree as well, the Ori were by far the best adversary.
Considering i only started watching SG1 in season 9, perhaps it was the arrival of the Ori storyline, or the new characters Mitchell and Vala. I just thought the replicators and Goa’uld were a bunch of ****
(although i like the Pegasus replicators). Iv been a fan of SGA since season 1, however the storyline and characters seemed better than SG1. But thankfully i watched the premiere of season 9-since i heard of O’Neills departure-and was surprised of how far the characters had developed since the beginning, Daniel, Carter and Teal’c had all advanced since the departure of O’Neill, plus, Mitchell and Vala are sooo cool and better, they just double the greatness of the old characters =]=]=]
