Did Owen Wilson Attempt Suicide?

Written by Nix | August 26th, 2007 | 0 Comments |

Wow, this is a major shock. Apparently actor Owen Wilson (”Shanghai Knights”, “You, Me, and Dupree”) may or may not have attempted suicide (no one has confirmed or deny that part yet), but what IS known is that he is currently in St John’s hospital in Santa Monica for treatment and is said to be in a “terrible state”. How exactly did this happen? Owen Wilson has always seemed like such an easy-going and affable fellow; you know, the class clown. How did the class clown end up in the hospital from a suicide attempt, if that’s what it turns out to be?

More from here:

We’re told he attempted suicide by slashing his wrists AND taking pills. His family found him clinging to life. Drugs have been rumored to be a problem for him but they didn’t seem to interfere with his work.

Wow. I’m speechless if this turns out to be true.

Update: 8/27/08 1:01 a.m.

Variety has more on Owen Wilson’s trip to the hospital:

Santa Monica police confirmed only that the actor had been taken to a hospital, TMZ.com reported.

“On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 pm officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department,” the police said in a news release. “The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.”

Citing medical privacy laws, the police did not release any further information.

The Enquirer said Wilson’s wrist was stitched and bandaged at the hospital, and that Wilson would “be detoxed.”
