Despite casting notices stating otherwise, Scarlett Johansson is rumored to have confirmed that she’s not actually in Shane Black’s “Iron Man 3″. And if ScarJo isn’t in the movie, then obviously her character, The Black Widow is also not in the movie. So what exactly is going on here?
In an interview with Screen Rant to promote a little indie film she has coming up called “The Avengers” (I think it’s about high school friends who get together after a long time apart to reminisce about the past or something), Johansson apparently confirms that she is not in “Iron Man 3″:
Though the cast of the next addition to the Tony Stark saga is filling up rather quickly with a bevy of notable and formidably talented actors, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow will not be joining the adventures on this one. The actress told us she would not be appearing in Iron Man 3 at the start of our interview with her and The Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, at The Avengers Los Angeles press event last week. Johansson did, however, pitch the idea of a Jason Bourne-esque super hero movie featuring the Black Widow character.
Now that’s Screen Rant’s report, but the odd thing is, they don’t have that on camera. Instead, all you see from the sit-down junket interview below is them talking about a would-be Black Widow movie and Mark Ruffalo talking about playing the Hulk.
So what to make of this? Who knows.
