Director Takashi Shimizu Takes to the Unfriendly Skies with Flight 75

For those of you who have lost countless hours of sleep wondering when, exactly, “Ju-on” director Takashi Shimizu would deliver another English-language chiller, your restless days and sleepless nights are finally over. Rumors are currently swirling that Shimizu’s next project will be “Flight 75″ for CBS Films, which is being described as a “claustrophobic thriller set on a transpacific airliner where the passengers encounter what appears to be a supernatural force.” Sounds like a winner to me. As long as it doesn’t involve snakes, zombies, or a rancid hybrid of the two, I’m totally down with airline-related horror.

This project once again finds Shimizu team with up his old pal Taka Ichise, who will produce the flick along with Roy “The Ring” Lee and Steven “Insidious” Schneider. Considering I hold both of those movies in pretty high regard, I’ll be extremely curious to see how this one shapes up. Production is tentatively set to begin this fall. Oh, and I’m still waiting for “Rabbit Horror 3D”, Mr. Shimizu. Please hurry, because this sounds too good to be true.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
