Director Wilson Yip Goes Family Friendly with Magic to Win

Wilson Yip? Doing a family-friendly action movie? I’m down for it. The frequent Donnie Yen collaborator tosses his cinematic hat into the family genre with “Magic to Win”, a light and breezy motion picture about a professor and a young woman with superhuman powers. The film was sold in several markets back in May, long before any of the cast members stepped in front of the camera. That’s the power of the Yip, I suppose. Below you’ll find a handful of stills from the flick, which stars Yan Ni , Louis Koo Wu Jing, Raymond Wong, and Wu Chun. Dig that funky lightsaber!

“Magic to Win” is tentatively scheduled for release in China later this year.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
