I like Dolph Lundgren. A lot. Although most of his cinematic endeavors head straight to home video these days, the guy’s work is just as strong as it ever was. In fact, his 2005 action flick “The Mechanik” (I refuse to call it “The Russian Specialist”) is probably the best thing he’s ever made. But that’s just my opinion. Feel free to disagree all you want.
The big guy’s latest flick “Ambushed” (aka “Hard Rush”) finds him teaming up with fellow DTV star Vinnie Jones. And while it doesn’t look like the strongest effort in their respective filmographies, the flick could be worth a rental. I’ll definitely check it out.
As always, here’s a synopsis:
Agent Maxwell (Dolph Lundgren) is about to close in on an international cocaine smuggling operation run by criminal mastermind Vincent Camastra (Vinnie Jones). When Agent Beverly Royce (Carly Pope) goes undercover with the drug dealers, she finds herself in deeper than she can handle. Up against ruthless killers as well as dirty cop Jack Reiley (Randy Couture), Frank and Eddie will soon find that dreams built on corruption sometimes exact a heavy toll.
“Ambushed” hits Blu-ray and DVD on November 12. Dolph Lundgren fanatics can satisfy their daily quota by checking out the trailer below.
