I’m sorry. I know continually using headlines with actors having a “need for speed” when it comes to casting for the upcoming “Need for Speed” movie is going to get old really fast. Hell, it already got old here, and I’m the guy writing them. Sorry again.
Anyhoo. It looks like Dominic Cooper is feeling a need for speed. (Sorry. Last time, I swear.)
The man who played Iron Man’s daddy in “Captain America: The First Avenger” and his own evil double in “The Devil’s Double” and is currently in negotiations to join the cast of DreamWorks’ live-action adaptation of the EA videogame franchise “Need for Speed”, which will star Aaron Paul, with Imogen Poots recently also added to the “in talks” department for the film.
With the would-be casting of Cooper, we also get an actual plot for the film:
Story follows an underground racecar driver (Paul) who owns a garage that modifies expensive cars to make them faster for racing. Framed and sent to prison when his best friend is murdered during a race, he seeks revenge upon his release.
Cooper would play Dino, “an ex-NASCAR driver who uses his connections to the wealthy to create a business rebuilding and modifying supercars.”
Poots, meanwhile, would play “an exotic car dealer who does business with Paul and Cooper.” She would also the be love interest for Paul’s character.
Scott Waugh, one of the directors of “Act of Valor”, will step in behind the wheel.
