Horror fans get more than they bargain for in Douglas Schulze’s “Mimesis”, which has been playing the festival circuits since 2011, and already has a sequel waiting in the wings in 2012. “Mimesis 2″ finds a bunch of horror fans running from a vampire, while the first “Mimesis” has a bunch of “Night of the Living Dead” zombie fans facing off against real zombies in an abandoned house, “Night of the Living Dead”-style. Well, “real” in the sense that they’re real in the movie, I mean.

In the film, a group of horror fans find themselves unwilling participants in a living nightmare that pays homage to a classic horror film. Seven complete strangers whose only common link is a love for classic era horror films are invited to attend an exclusive “horror fan” party at a remote farm. But as the sun sets, these strangers soon find themselves within a real life version of the 1968 George Romero cult horror classic Night of the Living Dead!
Starring Courtney Gains, Allen Maldonado, and Gavin Grazer, along with Sid Haig and a special cameo by original “Night of the Living Dead” star Bill Hinzman.
