Ooooh boy. This will either get all the “Dragonball” haters even more steamed, or it’ll convince them this thing isn’t the abomination they already think it is/will be. Frankly, I have no idea. It could go either way. I mean, it looks like they’re trying to replicate the cartoons from what I can tell, but then again, my entire Dragonball viewing is owed to about an hour’s worth — total. So, uh, “Dragonball” guys, you’ll either love this first look at the set, and various characters from the movie, or you’ll just hate the crap out of them. You decide!
The story begins with a young humanoid boy named Goku, who discovers that he was sent to Earth to blend in and destroy our population but instead elects to protect it from an oncoming alien onslaught bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects. He seeks out upon his adoptive grandfather Grandpa Gohan’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls. Of which he has one, in order to prevent the evil Lord Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world. And Goku’s quest is to obtain the mystical Dragonballs before Piccolo does.

I dont know if this movie is going to be good but you all have to stop insolting it, there isnt enough info. to judge this movie yet. remember ironman and speed racer people was saying that it was going to sux, but both movies were GREAT!

Just a question for those still in denial to the fact this movie will suck: Did you guys, for all the time you’ve been cussing at those who are criticizing, boycotting or saying this movie sucks, have any basis for saying that this movie’s great or at least not suck? So far I haven’t seen any, just endless cussing at those who really love Dragonball.
*sighs* The basis is very simple. We are just grateful for a dbz movie. We are just happy it is finally being made. We all knew that there was absolutely no way in hell that the movie could perfectly emulate the anime, a movie like that would suck. It would pretty much just be a hi-def episode of Dragonball. So, instead of acting like spoiled children, we just want to wait and see the movie for ourselves and enjoy it without some loudmouth in the theatre screaming that it will suck.
Boycotting and petitioning it will stop nothing. At the very least, if it is as bad as you say, maybe it will be redone like Ang Lee’s ill-fated “hulk” movie. And if so, everyone will have seen it and know. So stop getting your panties in a bunch and we’ll all just wait and see.
Sorry Praisor I think I said stuff like that somwhere else but I’m just really sick of fans saying this movie sucks when it hasn’t even came out yet. You gotta admit however I have some great DBZ puns in there and have a good point about criticism.

Some people are still trying to deny that the movie’s going to suck big time after the official shots are out, and they’re shots that show Bulma’s hair isn’t blue, too.
A bulma with all blue hair would be shit.
Yeah the character had it, but in a serious movie, that kind of thing doesn’t fly. Anime characters have blue, pink and green hair, but real people do not.
And if you look close the blue is recognized. She has a blue streak in her hair to pay homage to the anime and to show the kind of character Bulma is.

It could really go either way… now as for the Mortal Kombat Movie, that was freaking awesome, how dare you say it sucked monkey balls. I would listen to super saiyan 09, have the things he says come to action. I don’t necessarily agree with the insults and puns because I’m trying to live by a Goku lifestyle. You know nice,respectful and peaceful, its not because I’m him but he has a good lifestyle. You should never criticize a movie before it comes out. There are millions of Dragon ball fans who are dieing for it to come out. So you should never criticize or say something. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean everyone has to hate it like you. You are entitled to an opinion whether good or bad keep it to yourself or share it in a nice positive way. Obviously if you go on sites and look for previews and pictures you are interested in dragon ball and Dragon ball z. So why criticize it now? If you were to have never seen dragon ball z before and heard about it you would probably think its stupid right? Now after you have seen the series it’s good. This goes to EVERY other movie with bad reviews. See it yourself then say your opinion. In my opinion i love dragon ball/z/gt so i can’t to see it. That’s my opinion. yoo first off this movie will make so much money its crazy …and you have too have the main characters no chinese people american people just like the show and you need vegeta and krillin the androids and goku and trunks you need them in the movie ….wow i wish i could direct this movie id make it big
Actually, if you went and read volume 1 of Dragonball, it says plainly in the beginning that the story takes place in China. So, not white americans, Chinese people in China. (How can you tell from the show if they are white or asian anyway?) And Goku could be something that isn’t white or asian seeing as he’s an alien and probably wouldn’t have specific features of either, but some kind of uniqueness without being strange looking.
Also, you do not need Vegeta or the Androids in this movie. They actually appeared relatively late after the story began. Piccolo is in this because he was one of the first major villains.
If you directed this, i would blow up a movie theatre.
I think fans of DBZ should boycott this movie. It is in my opinion, that it’s an insult to a great Anime series. In looking at the photos, it seems to me not much thought is going into making this feature. It just would have better for another animated DBZ movie to have come out. I mean, how do you have a DBZ movie without Krillin? I hate to say negative things about anything related to DBZ as I am a huge fan, but I am boycotting the live-action “movie.” I’ll be at home watching my DBZ DVD collection instead.

Well, alls i can say is. QUIT YOUR WINING ASSES TRYING TO PETITION AGAINST THIS FILM!! We all can see that the storyline is butchered, that Goku’s hair looks like crap, and Yamcha is completely wrong. But for crying out loud, just watch the movie. How long have you been waiting for this? Finally there is a DBZ movie coming out. Personally, i’m going to enjoy it.
What you guys are doing is like giving a 5 year old exactly what he wanted for christmas, but he’s being a little brat and throwing it at you because it’s the wrong color.

You guys are not thinking about it. Think, I have never seen Dbz in your life and some one described it to you, you would think its horrible probably, but when you see it with your own eyes its incredible. See the movie your self. Most critics say it will be the biggest live action movie ever globally.
Can’t you describe a case in which it is even more horrible when you see it with your own eyes?
