Dwayne Johnson is the Tooth Fairy
Tooth Fairy (2010) Movie — By Nix on February 27, 2008
Oh well. You can’t say that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a stupid man. He gave the “next action star” thing a shot, and when that didn’t work out very well (i.e. abysmal box office), he stumbled across kiddie comedies and made a mint (i.e. “The Game Plan”). Now he’s back in another kiddie comedy, or two, or three… His latest is “The Tooth Fairy”.
More:
Johnson will play an ordinary man who’s brought in to try to save the tooth fairy kingdom.
“The Tooth Fairy” was scripted by Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel and Joshua Sternin & Jeffrey Ventimilia. Jason Blum’s Blumhouse will produce with Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray’s Mayhem Pictures. Ciardi and Gray most recently worked with Johnson on “The Game Plan.”
Besides this sure-to-be-thrilling little flick, he’s got Disney’s “Witch Mountain” on the horizon, as well as a spot on the Steve Carrel comedy “Get Smart”. Arnold Schwarzenegger managed to do comedy and action and switch it up, so maybe the Rock can balance that act, too.
Michael Lembeck (“The Santa Clause”) will direct.
