Looks like Entertainment Tonight will be giving us our first real good look at the “Green Lantern” trailer later next week on Tuesday. Until then, here’s their 30-second teaser, which features plenty of actual footage and gives you some idea of how the movie will look and feel. It looks kind of like a fun kid-friendly action-adventure? I could be wrong…

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Taika Cohen, Jeff Wolfe and directed by Martin Campbell.

Green is in June 17, 2011.

My first impression of that clip was…oh no…first-please, please, please let those be unfinished effects, because they looked like a bad cartoon…and i am not impressed with the suit at all…second-i hope that they were only showing some of the lighter moments because it’s ET…this movie does not need to be the dark night, but also shouldn’t be batman and robin…i am still holding out hope for this film, but this little clip was a total let down.

Ok, now I’m worried about the movie. The footage doesn’t look as half as good as I thought it will look.
The suit doesn’t look alien… it looks FAKE. Like a copy/paste version of a Green Lantern suit made with bad photoshop.
Also there goes my hope for Ryan Reynolds make the character works. It is as I fear: Is the same ryan Reynolds we all seen before… but with a photoshop GL suit.

I had some hopes for this one. Not so much now.

I think if RR would have continued his career with other movies, while continually helping the process with Deadpool,it probably wouldn’t be hanging on by a string right now. It’s quite possible that Robert Rodriguez was like “Awe dude,I like Ryan but I’m not waiting around for him to finish Green Lantern,I got ish to do”. Although the Deadpool production wasn’t totally ready yet,I think RR made it less likely to get made with the right people and the right time by doing Green Lantern.

It’s still happening and the possible director is decent. Reynolds is still very much involved, but he much like Rodriguez is attached to everything. Reynolds will do Deadpool I truly believe that. As for this, it’s still too early to say. I think he’s okay as Hal. Hal would have an “oh shit” moment with his pal when he first gets the ring. I’m sure the tone of the movie isn’t just these comedic moments. This is the fun stuff to get the non fans on board. Also the IM/GL analogy is warranted. Hal and Tony are both fun loving guys, cocky about what they’re good at (tech n piloting) and both revel in their new abilities. As Reynolds says of Hal, he’s the classic man’s hero who can “throw a punch, tell a joke and get the girl” at the end of the day, and thats what we’re seeing here.
