With “Thor: The Dark World’s” Alan Taylor firmly in the director’s seat, the film is currently looking for a leading lady. That will either be Emilia Clarke or Brie Larson, according to Deadline.
The names aren’t new — both Clarke and Larson were previously rumored as frontrunners a while back, with “The Wolf of Wall Street’s” Margot Robbie also in the mix. But it now appears as if Robbie has fallen away, leaving just Clarke and Larson, with Clarke, we’re told, having the edge.
If true, and Clarke does land the role, she would be reuniting with Taylor, who previously directed her on episodes of HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, where Clarke plays the pretty dragon lady. Larson is coming off an award-winning role in the indie flick “Short Term 12”, and previously played the pretty girl in the “21 Jump Street” movie. You remember, the one that gets wasted at the prom?
So it’s looking like either Clarke or Larson … unless someone else shows up to nab the gig at the last hour. Which is entirely possible. Heck, that happens all the time, actually.
Annapurna’s Megan Ellison and Skydance’s David Ellison will produce, with Taylor directing from a script is by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed he will also be involved in the film, which of course will feature a heavy time-travel component.
“Terminator 5” (or whatever they end up calling it) saves the world in 2015.
