How many full-length trailers is Sony going to be releasing for Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″? I have no idea, but I gotta admit, this thing does look pretty good. Check out the latest offering, which focuses a tad on Jamie Foxx’s Electro. Or at least, the trailer is titled “Rise of Electro,” and it’s three minutes long. There are also some very choice shots of Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy in moments of peril that all comic book fans will be very familiar with.

Check out the new trailer below, check it outers.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, with Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.

Spidey saves his girl this May 2nd.

I still see a Man of Steel crossed with Spiderman 3 kind of quality that I don’t like.

    I really hope I’m wrong.

I know that too many villains is what was believed to have ruined the third Raimi SM movie but there have been movies like The Dark Knight that had more than one villain that were terrific. The problem with SM 3 was the script. Hopefully this has a natural flow that brings these characters in and has them team up

I agree. It wasn’t them trying to shoe horn in Goblin Jr and Venom (though that didn’t help) it was the way they were written into the script. Had they started with the Venom story but let it play out over it’s own film as a sequel it would’ve worked. And I think that’s the plan here. Rhino is the opening/mid villain. action but no major threat, but helps set up Electro which is the true threat, which leads to Harry as the Goblin, and even that won’t be a full on version as it leads to a sequel that brings in the rest of the Sinister Six.

Seems about right. I really hope that it turns out good. I really want to see a series worth watching. I will always watch comic films regardless of how bad they are, that is just one of those things, but it would be nice to be able to really enjoy them.

I think Marc Webb has a better understanding than most of what works for Spiderman. I don’t say this often about filmmakers, but I trust him.

Most definitely. He seems to be pulling from everywhere and creating a new mythology that harkens back to the original, but still feels fresh. He truly does get Spidey, Peter, and his world.
