Perhaps though Hollywoods ability to sucker the public into a shitty movie with a great trailer was what fell through. People are tired of paying too much to watch lame movies chalk full of recycled scenes and plot points and characters and yet these movies, with all the recycled BS keep being made, and keep be advertised as the coolest movies ever, and they keep disappointing, it seemed pretty obvious that such abuse of the movie going public would result in people rejecting the theaters. Most movies that come out in a given year suck. Most people think that most movies are not worth their hard earned money, so the safe bet is to watch the pirated copy at home for free. Don't worry though, some of us have a sense of justice. I sent a money order to Oren Peli for $13 because I watched the bootleg of Paranormal Activity online and felt terrible, because the fuckin movie awesome. Obviously thats not how the industry works, but it was a symbolic gesture. People will pay good money to see good movies.
