Correction; I ment to say "Since Raim’s film is NOT critically acclaimed, AND now that she won the Oscar, she turns it down. But guess what, CRITICS don’t make movies"

Sometimes the people you surround yourself with can do more harm than good. Like advising you to drop out of a project with a ledgendary director.

I'll say this, most of the Oscar winning movies, the public isn't going to remember them or care much about them years later.

I'm not saying this to put down the academy, I'll just say there's a difference between doing a little B movie most people never see compared to working with an A list director who's moves have grossed Billion of dollars.

It's not always about the money, but the quality of Sam Raimi's work have been great. Everyone knows he's a great filmmaker, so why the sudden change in heart.

Sometimes the people you surround yourself with can do more harm than good and steer you in the wrong direction.

So you won an academy award, does that mean you should start dropping out of projects that could of taken your career to the next level. I don't see Ttoby Mcguire complaining. I wonder what would of happen if Toby had sudden change of heart because he didn't like the original script to Spiderman.

Who knows. But, winning an Oscar doesn't mean you have arrived. You still have to prove yourself. Especially when you've only done two movies anyone can remember. And your last film was a "B" movie. The public doesn't know who you are Ellen.

JUST A NOTE: Some of the greatest actors of all time have NEVER EVER won an academy award.

But guess what? They appeared in some of the most LOVED movies off all time. I don't remember Star Wars or Ghost Busters being nominated.

How many awards did Dirty Harry, Vertigo, Jurrasic Park, Kindergarden Cop, 300, The ShawshankBlade Runner, Animal House, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream etc...

But we love them.

As great as Jimmy Stewart was in "It's A Wonderful Life" he didn't win an Oscar for it and it didn't win best picture.

Best picture went to "The Best Years of Our Lives" and best actor to Fredric March from that film.

50 years later, nobody knows who Fredric March is or have ever seen "The Best Years of Our Lives". But we all love "It's a Wonderful Live" and we love Jimmy Stewart. We love him in Vertigo and have seen most of his work.

What would of happen if filmmakers started listening to critics? Sound like what she may be doing, since Raim's film is criticly acclaimed, now that she won the Oscar, she turns it down. But guess what, critics don't make movies.

Filmmakers make movies and if you loved the project before, then you should of went with your gut and do it. The same critics who turn there noses at mainstream movies are the same weirdos who look down their noses at the movies we loved as a child and love today.

So to Ellen, dumb choice, because that gives some other starlet an opportunity to work with an A list director. Do you remember Toby McGuier, yeah.. The who world does. Not saying that you will become the next Box office sensation, but working with a director like Raimi, wouldn't hurt. I don't hear Toby or Bruce Campble complaining.
