Former “ER” and “Jericho” actress Emily Rose has landed the lead role in the SyFy channel’s new original series “Haven”, based on the Stephen King novella “The Colorado Kid”. THR says Rose will play Audrey Parker, described as a shrewd FBI agent with a lost past who arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine in order to solve the murder of a local ex-con. Things do not go as planned, and our spunky fed discovers that the secretive town is actually a refuge for people with supernatural powers. It’s also got lots of secrets, too, some of which may be connected to her own past.
The series is being developed by Scott Shepherd, Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller, the trio behind another successful King TV adaptation, the long-running supernatural procedural “The Dead Zone”.
The first season, scheduled for 13 episodes, will begin production soon for a late 2010 premiere on the cable network.
