Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy on the Set of the Spider-Man Reboot

You already saw Emma Stone out and about sporting her new blonde do in preparation for Marc Webb’s upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot, now here’s Stone on the actual set of the movie attending … is that a funeral? Hmm, I wonder whose funeral that’s for? Could it be for … Nah, I won’t ruin it for all you non-comic book reading folks out there. Suffice it to say, Gwen Stacy won’t be very happy with a certain wall-crawler post-funeral.

Andrew Garfield will play Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, with Denis Leary as Gwen’s Police Captain father, George Stacy, and Martin Sheen and Sally Fields as Parker’s uncle and aunt, respectively. Recent casting also added Julianne Nicholson and Campbell Scott as Parker’s absent parents, along with “Slumdog Millionaire’s” Irrfan Khan, who was added to the cast as a second villain along with Rhys Ifan, who is expected to play The Lizard.

Marc Webb is directing, with “Spider-Man” expected by Summer 2012.

Uncle Ben’s Funeral maybe? Or Maybe even Captain Stacy? But that’d be too soon.

I really hope that they figure this franchise more like a trilogy with a definate begining and ending, like Nolan’s Batman films. That way they don’t jump the gun and try to cram too much stuff into one film. If these films are rushed they can be bad. While I’m a fan of Daredevil, Ghost Rider and X-Men, those movies were trying to hard to cover all of their bases in one flick. If thought of as a trilogy or even as a series of films it would give these characters and plots time to grow. They need time to become more more developed to have the viewers care and have the plots gain some importance. Daredevil blew it’s character’s entire wad in an hour and a half! Every villain and supporting character were in there! Ghost rider same thing. X-Men, while trying to appeal to the masses, threw all of the fan favorites of the time into their first outing creating an entirely different cannon in the process. I really feel that that was the downfall of Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. He tried to jam three new characters (Venom, Gwen Stacy and Sandman), all equally as important in the lore along with two of the most famous storylines (the black suit, death of Gwen Stacy) all in one movie! They botched the “Death Of Gwen Stacy” line in the first film by re-writing the history and putting MJ in place of Gwen (stupid idea by the way.) Plus the transformation from Harry into the second Geen Goblin/Hobgoblin/hover snowboarder guy or whatever the hell he was supposed to be! I wish that Raimi would have gone the route of developing Dr. Connors and having him turn into Lizard. That plus turning Harry into Hobgoblin (I know that Harry was the second GG but to have some sort of difference between the first and third film it would make sense in that scenario) I’m getting off the point again! Just stick to the source material and don’t rush it is my point. We all know that this new film will be a hit. The studio will no doubt want a sequel and most likely that will kill at the box office and they’ll want a sequel to that. Marc Webb, if your listening, pace yourself and don’t go too far off of the comics.

Andrew Farfield as Peter Parker is a terrible Idea…..in fact I’d rather have Tobey back. Hell I’d even take the guy who played Harry from the last spidey Trilogy to play Pete…….at least he looks like the 90’s animated series Peter Parker.
