Aaaaaand so much for that…It was just two days ago when the Internet was abuzz with the news that Emma Stone was offered the lead role in director Craig Gillespie’s adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel.
I’m sure you were all excited to see Emma kick some zombie ass again, but alas that won’t happen…at least not when it comes to “Pride and Prejudice”. According to Deadline, Stone passed on the role. An offer was made, but negotiations never happened.
I guess you could always hold out that she’ll return for “Zombieland 2″.
Anne Hathaway and Mia Wasikowska had also been offered the role before passing up the part so now I have to ask fellow readers, now that Stone has passed, who should take on the role of Elizabeth Bennet in “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”?
There’s always the chance that Mary Elizabeth Winstead could do it since she’s already starring in Grahame-Smith’s adaptation of his other novel “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” but I don’t see that happening.
