Emmy Rossum, Two More Join Dragon Ball Movie

By Nix | December 15, 2007 (12:38 am)

The Dragon Ball Z movie rolls on, adding three new castmembers to its list. The biggest name is Emmy Rossum, last seen in the remake of “Poseidon” and “Phantom of the Opera”, although what role she’ll be playing in the manga-inspired movie was not disclosed. Also joining her are Japanese actress Eriko Tamura (last seen on Heroes), who will play Mai, and Korean boy band member Joon Park, who will play Yamcha.

The trio are joining a cast that already includes Justin Chatwin, James Marsters and Jamie Chung, says The Hollywood Reporter.

A young boy named Goku seeks out upon his grandfather’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls (of which he has one) in order to prevent Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world.

This will be Rossum’s first role since “Poseidon”, after which she devoted most of her time to her singing career, while “G.O.D.” pop star Joon Park will be in his second Hollywood film after a role in the Wachowski Brothers’ “Speed Racer”.
