English-Subtitled Trailer for Empress and the Warriors

A new, this time English-subtitled trailer for the upcoming Chinese martial arts epic “An Empress and the Warriors”, starring Donnie Yen, Kelly Chen, and Leon Lai. Although the trailer seems to indicate that this is Lai and Chen’s story, it’s interesting to note that Yen gets top billing. Interesting, but not a surprise; if you’re going to sell this movie to an International audience, hyping Yen is the way to go, since he’s probably the most well-known, especially among Chinese action movie enthusiasts.

According to the trailer, “An Empress and the Warriors” opens March 20 in Asian cinemas. If it does well in Asia, you can probably expect a limited U.S. release in theaters. Probably.
