Epicness Abounds in New 3-Minute Man of Steel Trailer

Hold onto your panties, boys and girls, here’s the new trailer for Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel”. And because the usual 2 and a half minutes you usually get from a regular trailer can’t possibly hold all the awesomeness contained within, they expanded it to 3 minutes, with an extra 30 seconds of badassery for you to gawk at. So what are you waiting for? Start yer gawkin, gawkers.

And that whole “S” gag at the end? Cute. I guess they really ARE trying to keep the movie from using the “S” word, which I guess makes sense given the lack of a “Superman” in the title of the movie. Probably saving it for the very end, I’m guessin’.

Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent, Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe.

Up, up and away this June 14, 2013.

the S on superman’s chest doesn’t stand for hope. it was taken from the creator’s
last names-SIEGEL and SHUSTER; in the 1978 chris reeve film, the S on brando’s
shirt and on chris’ shirt means STAR among other elder’s symbols on their shirts.
superman’s alien name KAL-EL means STAR CHILD.

Correct, Ever Since Brando asked that The S shield be put on his outfit in the 78 film the ‘S’ became a family crest. It’s gone through different origins but the one that has been set forth now for a good 20 years or so is that it is the Crest of the House of El and it is their symbol for hope.
