I love me some Westerns. But nowadays the only people who make Westerns are hard-up for a decent budget, so the results are always kinda, well, not so hot. But director Tanner Beard’s “The Legend of Hell’s Gate: An American Conspiracy” (not sure we actually need the “An American Conspiracy” part there, but what do I know) looks like it might have a decent budget. After all, it does have Eric Balfour, Summer Glau, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum in the cast. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Glau started karate kicking people in the movie? I mean, that would be awesome. Don’t expect it to happen, alas. Take a gander (as they used to say back in the day) at some images, posters and a trailer for the upcoming Western.
In 1870s Texas, a ruthless bounty hunter and an Irish desperado flee the law with a young criminal claiming to possess a treasure more valuable than gold. Crossing paths with some of the West’s most notorious figures, the three outlaws fight for their lives in the pursuit of fame and fortune. Fueled by an ensemble cast and inspired by actual events, THE LEGEND OF HELL’S GATE blends legend and history into a Western spectacle that recounts a treacherous existence in post Civil War Texas.
The film stars Eric Balfour, Summer Glau, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jenna Dewan and Henry Thomas, and Phase 4 Films plans to release it into theaters March 30th.
Update: Second trailer.
