“Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke’s new show, “Revolution” has been given a pilot order from NBC. The show is co-produced by the suddenly very prolific J.J. Abrams, but let’s face it, like most shows Abrams has his name on nowadays, it’s just that, his name on a show. It’ll make the show easier to sell, of course, and that’s probably the point.
So what’s “Revolution” about?
A high-octane action drama following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.
Now that’s an intriguing premise. I don’t even know how that even works on a conceptual level, but it’ll be fascinating to find out.
Kripke, of course, is the creator of “Supernatural” on the CW, about two brothers who scour the Midwest killing demons and saving the world. That show has really suffered now that he’s left the day-to-day business of running it, and he is sorely missed.
Kripke, along with Abrams and Bryan Burk, will executive produce “Revolution”.
