I remember when Aussie siblings the Spierig Brothers burst onto the scene with 2003’s sci-fi/zombie flick “Undead.” It was an interesting movie and got them noticed by Hollywood. They followed that up with 2009’s big-budget vampire flick “Daybreakers,” which starred Ethan Hawke, who has once again re-teamed with the bros for the sci-fi actioner “Predestination.” I guess you could say it’s kind of like Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1994 movie “Timecop,” but with less gratuitous leg splits.
Check out the first trailer and a poster for the movie below. It looks…interesting. Kinda like a cross between “Jumper” and “Timecop” in terms of visuals.
PREDESTINATION chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to ensure the continuation of his law enforcement career for all eternity. Now, on his final assignment, the Agent must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.
Starring Ethan Hawke, Noah Taylor, and Sarah Snook.
The Aussies get it this August 28th in theaters. No word yet on a Stateside release.
