Or, well, she will be once she signs on the dotted line and officially joins the cast of the Edgar Wright superhero movie. At the moment, the official word has former “Lost” star Evangeline Lilly only in “early talks” for the role.
According to the trades, Lilly would play the film’s main female part, the daughter of Hank Pym (to be played by Michael Douglas) and, eventually, Scott Lang’s love interest. In comic book canon, Pym was the original Ant-Man, and is succeeded by Lang (to be played by Paul Rudd).
Of course, since Ant-Man is most commonly associated with The Wasp, no doubt all the speculations will now turn to Lilly eventually slapping on leotards and wings and flying around.
“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’s” Edgar Wright is directing from a script he co-wrote with Joe Cornish (“Attack the Block”), with the film currently scheduled for 2015, the same year as Marvel’s “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” though the two movies are said not to be linked. Which is weird for Marvel (especially since in comic book land, Pym created Ultron), but there you have it.
Evangeline Lilly, of course, is best known for the TV show “Lost,” but recently played a bow-slingin’ elf in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.”
