Bruce Willis and Jai Courtney, as father and son McClanes, take no prisoners in “A Good Day to Die Hard”, kicking off the New Year in fine style. Okay, so it’s a month after the new years. Close enough. Anyways, the John Moore-directed film looks like, ahem, a blast. I’ll grant you that the whole “giving him a kid to rejuvenate the series” is such a cliche, but at least they didn’t give McClane some annoying brat of a teenage son. McClane Jr. is all grown up and playing a spy in this one.
Check out the first two TV spots for “A Good Day to Die Hard” in all their explosive glory.
Bruce Willis is back as iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, who for the first time finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack (Jai Courtney) — unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.
Also starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amaury Nolasco, Cole Hauser, Sebastian Koch, Aksel Hennie, and Julia Snigir.
