Extended 2-Minute Trailer and Clip for Homeland Season 1 Finale, Marine One

Damian Lewis in Homeland 112 Marine One

Here it is, folks, the Season 1 finale episode of Showtime’s new thriller “Homeland”, an episode so huge, so monumental, so potentially game-changing awesome, they had to extend the episode by 30 minutes for a full 90 minutes. And since the episode will be longer than usual, so too is the preview trailer, which runs a whoppin’ two minutes.

I won’t spoil what’s already come before, in case there are still some of you out there who haven’t been keeping up with the going-ons of “Homeland”, but suffice it to say, if you plan on some day starting on the show, I would recommend NOT watching the preview trailer below. The fact is, unlike a lot of shows, “Homeland” progresses quite quickly, so what happens in one episode may (and does) change the entire direction of the season. Basically, this ain’t one of your “CSI” shows or anything you can currently find on network TV, where a show can go YEARS without anything worthwhile happening that would dramatically shift the show’s status quo. Hell, even the episode’s synopsis is a tad SPOILER-y:

While Carrie is near catatonic and confined to bed, Saul investigates the unsettling implications of her timeline; Walker secures a perch for his mission; Brody makes his final preparations for the Vice President’s policy summit at the State Department.

So, without further delay, here’s the 2-minute preview for this weekend’s “Homeland” Season 1 finale, “Marine One”, which finds everything coming to a head. After the episode ends, I think it’s pretty obvious that the show’s already-greenlit Season 2 will go in a completely new direction. You’d have to, wouldn’t you? The waiting to see where they go from here is going to be insane, that’s for sure.

“Homeland” stars Damian Lewis, Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, Morena Baccarin, and airs on Showtime this Sunday.
