As I said when I posted the “In Time” posters, the potential bump in the road with Andrew Niccol’s latest, the sci-fi drama “In Time” isn’t the concept. Niccol is a master at presenting concept in a way that you accept it unconditionally, and in this case, he’s gonna be working overtime to sell the film’s “time is money” (literally) premise. The potential problem here is Justin Timberlake. I don’t know, the guy just doesn’t look like he has the gravitas necessary to carry a movie, much less a major studio action film. If I’m proven wrong, I’ll be the first to admit it, though. Until then, check out the nearly 4-minute extended trailer for “In Time” that was shown over at Comic Con.
When Will Salas is falsely accused of murder, he must figure out a way to bring down a system where time is money – literally – enabling the wealthy to live forever while the poor, like Will, have to beg, borrow, and steal enough minutes to make it through another day.
Starring Olivia Wilde, Alex Pettyfer, Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake, Johnny Galecki, Matt Bomer, Cillian Murphy, Elena Satine, Vincent Kartheiser, Yaya DaCosta, Ethan Peck, Toby Hemingway, Bella Heathcote, and directed by Andrew Niccol.
