I have no idea if Steven Quale’s “Into the Storm” is one of those damn found footage movies that I hate so much, or if it just uses a combination found footage and regular narrative techniques, which means I’ll just hate it half as much if I end up seeing it. Probably not, though, since all the cool stuff seems to have already been shown in this trailer. I mean, what else is there? Romance between the girl from “Prison Break” and the guy from “The Hobbit”? Puh-leeze. The movie is about tornadoes on fire, for God’s sake.
But if you happen to be a fan of fire-breathing tornadoes, check out the new trailer for Quale’s little ditty. I mean, the tornadoes are on fire. WTF?
In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, “Into the Storm” throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.
Starring Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Arlen Escarpeta, Nathan Kress, Jon Reep , and Jeremy Sumpter.
The storm arrives this August 8th.
