First Absolutely Ridiculous Action-Packed Trailer for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Honestly, folks, I think the word “ridiculous” easily describes what director Tommy Wirkola and company are apparently going for with “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”. I mean, at one point someone pops up with a heavy machinegun-like weapon and starts spraying. Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with watching Gemma Arterton wearing tight black leather going around shooting witches with crossbows and headbutting Peter Stormare. Nope, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. The film was originally scheduled for 2012, but was pushed to early 2013. That’s usually where studios dump films they aren’t sure will sell tickets, though there have been plenty of movies that have emerged out of that dumping ground to become hits. “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”, as ridiculous as it looks, has potential. It certainly looks fun.

15 years after their traumatic gingerbread-house incident, siblings Hansel and Gretel have become a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world.

Starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Pihla Viitala, Zoe Bell, Derek Mears, Thomas Mann, and directed by “Dead Snow’s” Tommy Wirkola.

Hansel and Gretel take care of business January 11, 2013.

Looks like the most are-tardedly best parts of “Van Helsing” and “The Brothers Grimm” got thrown together. As long as it’s an R-rated spectacle, it’ll be worth a matinee show

  • Nicolas

well at least is not so ridiculous as abraham lincon vampire hunter

  • Thecrow77

Haha…this does look fun. I heard they did decide to go with the R rated cut too. I hope so.
