First Book of Eli Poster Promises Sword-Swinging Action

Written by Nix | November 7th, 2008 | 1 Comment |

Well this is interesting. When I heard about Denzel Washington’s post-apocalyptic movie “Book of Eli”, I was expecting more of a drama type movie. As it turns not, this thing may actually be more action-oriented than I originally thought, or at least that’s what I’m assuming after seeing this teaser poster for the movie, which features a silhouetted character wearing a sword scabbard. If you’re going to wear a sword on the poster, it’s only fair to assume that the sword gets used at one point or another in the movie. Are we looking at a “Blade”-ish movie here? Curiouser and curiouser…

Poster and info via Comingsoon:

The January 15, 2010 release revolves around a lone warrior (Washington) who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption. Oldman has been set to portray the despot of a small makeshift town who’s determined to take possession of the book Eli’s guarding.

Denzel Washington is the lone warrior with the sword, and Gary Oldman is the bad dude who wants his book. Let’s fight!

Now, that looks cool. Denzel as a apocalyptic samurai? I’m there!
