For some reason, I thought Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” had already come out. Go figure. Turns out, it won’t be landing in multiplexes everywhere until October (you know, cause of Halloween and this being a Tim Burton movie about a kid who brings his dog back from the dead and all — I know, real novel). Anyways, check out the first clip from the film, which features a slightly off-kilter teacher. What other kind of teacher would he be in a Tim Burton movie? Exactly.
From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
Featuring the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Conchata Ferrell, Atticus Shaffer, Martin Short, Tom Kenny, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Robert Capron, and James Hiroyuki Liao.
Lightning strikes October 5, 2012.
