Why not just make a Fatal Fury movie? Less characters but several in this movie (Mai and Terry), easier story (REVENGE for the Bogard brothers on Geese for killing his father), and less of a chance of a COMPLETE CLUSTERF*CK!!! I mean interdimensional fighters? This isn't MK! As a matter of fact, this isn't even Street Fighter, so why are we going so sci-fi with it. KOF has realistic characters (Mercs, fighters, soldiers, killers, drug lords and criminals). Base it on that and throw in the prerequisite fights and you're good. Stop trying to use sci-fi to explain away what are specialized martial arts techniques using Ki/Chi. Not even getting into the American playing Kyo Kusanagi (japanese name) or the fact that Mai (Maggie Q who is cute but...) doesn't have her voluptious body, or that Terry Bogard is...a CIA agaent? Say what now? That's like turning Ryu into a reluctant theif....oh wait they did. But the fights should at least be decent, and it does look a little better than both Dragonball Evolution and Legend of Chun Li, and DOA, and the original Street Fighter. But MK still holds a special place for taking the source somewhat seriously and providing some trully kick ass fight sscenes. DOA at least had a couple decent ones and some eye candy.
