In the States, “30 Days of Night” and “Alias” star Melissa George’s new spy/action adventure TV series “Hunted” will be arriving by way of the Cinemax paid cable network. Overseas, though, it’ll be doing its business over the BBC’s airwaves. The network has now released a full trailer for the film, which gives us a feel for what we can expect. In a word, lots of Melissa George not trusting anymore, explosions, and British dudes looking uber suspicious. “Hunted” boasts producing credits by Frank Spotnitz, also responsible for the Brit-centric show “Strike Back”, a major guilty pleasure for me, so I’m expecting “Hunted” to be just as good, and will be very disappointed if it’s not.
Meet Sam. A spy. A hunter. And herself hunted by an enemy more ruthless and determined than any she’s ever known. Sam has been running from her past her entire life but when she returns to Byzantium, the organisation that employs her, and begins to pursue her pursuer, she will discover the only way to escape that past… is to confront it. This is the story of a spy with a bull’s eye on her back, a human target unable to trust anyone at any time, even the man she loves. She is, quite literally, running for her life. Hunted is a smart, complex and contemporary spy series.
Besides George, the show also stars Oscar Kennedy, Dhaffer L’Abidine and Aaron Neil.
“Hunted” is scheduled to kick some ass on Cinemax October 26th.
