I gotta admit, I’ve read Isaac Marion’s book “Warm Bodies”, and this trailer for the film version by director Jonathan Levine (who also adapted the script) looks very faithful, right up to the voiceover narration by the film’s lead, a zombie name R. (The book was written in first-person.) Not sure about the casting of Rob Corddry as M, though, I always pictured someone more Matthew Lillard-y. Also, I was curious how they were going to pull off the “Boneys”, essentially the villains of the film (besides the humans trying to shotgun our zombie hero, I mean) but it looks like they went completely CG with it, which was probably the only way they could really do it, I guess. Anyways, check out the first trailer for the zombie romance “Warm Bodies”.
R is a zombie, but R is so much more. He certainly looks the part with his trademark gait and rotting flesh. Sure he loves to munch on human brains as much as the next dead guy, but something is changing inside. He just met this human girl named Julie on a hunting raid and instead of eating her, he’s decided to save her life and hide her from his friends. In this post apocalyptic world where zombies prey on human survivors, this is certainly a no-no. But R can’t help himself. Julie is causing him to do something he didn’t know he was capable of doing: to feel. For the first time in his death R has found a reason to live.
“Warm Bodies” stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, Analeigh Tipton, John Malkovich, Lizzy Caplan, Dave Franco, Cory Hardrict, Justin Bradley, and rises to save the day February 1, 2013.
