According to this new poster for Robert Rodriguez’s TV adaptation of his own movie “From Dusk Till Dawn,” you can catch the Gecko brothers doing their crime thing when they take their menace to TVland on Rodriguez’s own fledgling El Rey Channel in a couple of montths. What, you don’t get the El Rey Channel? Yeah, neither do I, so I guess we both have to wait until this thing comes on DVD to see it or something.
Until then, RobRod has released your first look at a poster and 30-second trailer (via EW) for the show featuring Eiza González as stripper/vampire mistress Santánico Pandemonium, along with an official image of “G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s” D.J. Cotrona as Seth Gecko and Zane Holtz as his slightly unbalanced brother, Richie. As you’ll recall, George Clooney played Seth and Quentin Tarantino played Richie in the movie version.
The first scripted series from El Rey Network, “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is a supernatural crime saga centered around bank robber, Seth Gecko and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko, who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Earl McGraw and Freddie Gonzalez after a bank heist left several people dead. On the way to Mexico, Seth and Richie kidnap former minister Jacob Fuller and his family, in order to use the family RV to cross the border. But as nothing is EVER easy when in a life of crime, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is populated by vampires and forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive.
Besides Cotrona, Holtz, and Gonzalez, the show will also star Wilmer Valderrama, Jesse Garcia, Don Johnson, Robert Patrick, Madison Davenport, and Brandon Soo Hoo.
Menacing Texas on their way to Mexico this March 11 on the El Rey Channel.
