By now you’ve probably already seen D.C.’s “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1″, based on the Frank Miller ’80s limited series comic of the same name. And you probably found it incredibly faithful to the original source material. In which case, you’re definitely looking forward to “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2″, which may very well be the last D.C. original animated movie … ever. (If you’re a fan of D.C. and Warner’s output over the years, let’s hope there’s one or two more product still in the pipeline…)
Until then, take a look at the very first image from “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2″. If you’ve read the Miller comics, you can probably guess where this scene is taking place, and what it leads to — and with whom. Hint: what happens next is definitely not a joke.
“Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2″ arrives on DVD/Blu-ray next year. But if you happen to be at the New York Comic Con later this month, you’ll be able to sit in on a panel and, we suspect, get a sneak peek at the upcoming sequel. And oh yeah, there’s also a free screening of the documentary “The Batmobile” for you lucky few that makes the trip.
