Hollywood has remade horror movies from Asia about pretty much anything and everything, including videotapes, cellphones, and houses, so why not mirrors? That’s the haunted object in the upcoming Alexandre Aja horror movie “Mirrors”, which is based on the 2003 South Korean horror movie “Into the Mirror” (read our review of the original here). It’s been a while since I saw and reviewed the film, but I recall that it was very clever and slick, but not entirely scary. The remake will star Kiefer Sutherland, and the first image from the movie has appeared online.
The image below shows Kiefer Sutherland as mall security guard who begins to suspect that the mirrors are more than they seem. (Hint: they are.)
A mall security guard becomes wrapped up in a mystery involving a particular department store’s mirrors which seem to bring out the worst in people.
The cast includes Sutherland, Paula Patton, Cameron Boyce, Erica Gluck and Amy Smart, with “High Tension” director Alexandre Aja behind the lens.
The mirrors come alive August 15, 2008.
