OKOKOK i hated the idea of this movie at first and i still do. BUT. lets be fair. GOKU is an alien. who said hes gotta be japanese. it would have been a better choice but c’mon. BUT EVERYONE ELSE is fucked up. why is roshi so fuckin young. I know the creator says look at it as another demension but are we not sick of seeeing white boys learn how to fight? c’mon now. im not knockin white people its just that story has been over done too many times since the 70’s. and WHERE THE FUCK IS KRILLIN?????!?!???

I think one movie for on saga would do and then it would take more than ten movies..3 movies would be good to start the real adventure..

lol 2 me the only thing that I dont like about the movie, is that its wayyyy back to when he was fighting picalo, lol i would have liked 2 see atleast the super sayin come out lol and if they are not gonna make a sequel, not that i no if they are or not, but just saying, then they could have made it with some one known from GT like brolly, that would have been great.

But if the Hollywood guys want to go original and appeal to the “public”, then why couldn’t they just borrow ideas instead of making an “adaptation” where basically nothing is faithful to the story?
In terms of adapting the story, the Japanese are going to do a much greater job no matter how bad the effects may turn out.

Reading this thread has prompted me to say a couple things.

1: I wish more people paid attention in English class.

2: This is an adaptation of Dragon Ball. That means it is not only about Goku’s EARLY YEARS, when he was NOT A HULKING VIN-DIESEL-ISH BEEFCAKE, but also that it’s an ADAPTATION of a cartoon and therefore not going to be easy to get dead on. Dragonball was such an odd duck of a manga/anime that there’s only so much of the original they can keep intact and still expect the viewing audience to take it seriously. Hence, they skipped ahead and made Piccolo the villain. I don’t see anyone here complaining about the absence of Emperor Pilaf…

3: At the end of the day, Hollyweird is out to make a buck. The beauty of anime-to-live-action is that they can TRY to pull in not only the fans of the original, but the “jocks” and “bros” who see the trailer and say to themselves, “Dude this looks like an AWSM action flick let’s watch shiznit blow up and superspeed kung fu times lolz”. The more demographics you appeal to, the more likely you are to surpass the bottom line and actually earn profit.

4: The odds of Toriyama-sensei bothering to show up on this drab little chat board is a million to one.

I can already see what their trying to cook on this 1. Gokou will be a nerdy highschool boy whos trying to find answers to his damn existence.add the leading lady and what you have here is a “scary movie” teen movie type of S%h*.No wonder they delayed it, cause i bet the manga creator felt this aint right lol. I bet they will make piccolo retain a human figure (like what they did with blackheart in ghostrider) just to piss up more db fans.but yes i will watch it for a laugh. and wtf were they thinking to make chow yun fat as master roshi? lol! he can probably play the gokou role better than this skinny twit,what are they gonna do next?! make jet-li play yajirobi? hahaha dayyym
