First Images from Tarsem Singh’s Immortals

I’ve been dying to see something from Tarsem Singh’s “Immortals” since I heard about the movie. Yes, even more than Louis Leterrier’s “Clash of the Titans” remake, which I knew wasn’t going to be great. Good, but not great. Leterrier, to me, is the French version of Paul W.S. Anderson — he’s a very capable of director, but he’ll never be mistaken for a great one. Tarsem Singh, on the other hand, has the potential to be a friggin’ genius in the industry. Rogue Pictures has released a series of video interviews with director Tarsem Singh on the set of the movie here (via Movieweb), but they’re mostly just him standing around talking for about ten total minutes. The pictures, on the other hand, look very good.

A purported bastard who retains an allegiance to his mother despite the fact that he longs to join the quest of a king who is battling demons in ancient Greece later embarks on a grail of discovery that has him finding he is the king’s son and also fated to become his country’s greatest hero as he leads the successful war against long-imprisoned Titans who are hoping to use the demons to restore their power.

Starring Mickey Rourke, Kellan Lutz, Isabel Lucas, Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, John Hurt, Freida Pinto, Stephen Dorff, Robert Maillet, Alan Van Sprang, Joseph Morgan, Corey Sevier, Steve Byers, Romano Orzari, and directed by Tarsem Singh.

Fight the Gods November 11, 2011.

It's about Theseus! AWESOME! I watched the vides and Singh had me crying great personality. I hope this does better than “Clash,” which I really did like, but it won't eclipse the original. But I want a greek mythology flick to do well so we can get “God of War,” and a big Hollywood version of “The Illiad,” and “The Odyssey,” with bickering Gods and such.
