First Images from the Karate Kid Remake
Movie Images, The Karate Kid (Remake, 2010) Movie — By Nix on December 1, 2009Here are your first official images from Jackie Chan’s remake of “The Karate Kid”. No more “Kung Fu Kid” name change, then? The remake stars Jaden Smith in the Ralph Macchio role, while Jackie Chan steps into Mister Miyagi’s sandals. The setting has been moved to China, and as you can see from the images below, the Great Wall of China has now become a place for what will no doubt be a kung fu training montage. Directed by Harald Zwart, the film co-stars Taraji P. Henson and is due out June 11, 2010.

Quite the kick the lil kid has. Seriously though this is going to be so bad. And it’s not the fact it’s a remake. It’s the fact that the main character is so young. He really is a kid and that’s gonna make all the fights corny. Poor Jackie. He should do another flick like Forbidden Kingdom.
Forbidden Kingdom was definitely better than I expected it to be, and I’ve been pretty negative about this film. However I look into these pics and find myself wondering if Jackie Chan as the loveable master wouldn’t be awesome if the movie still had some of the seriousness of the first film. I mean as long as they dont have the kid fighting grownups ill be okay. If they grow with the Lil Smith and make it more serious throughout a linear timeline with the sequels, it could be good I guess. I dont know. I’ll wait for a trailer.
The Strongest There Is.
you must be crazy, Forbidden Kingdom was a piece of trash!
I’m not interested in this reboot/remake but the stills are impressive.
At first I thought that was Bow Wow. But damn man, that kid is strong.
Trust me, if you can put one leg in the air while the second is making you standing, your body is adaptable!
that first picture looks, how do you say, photoshopped? again, it’ll be fun to see the little prat from “Day The Earth Stood Still” get the shit kicked out of him by bullies, but WTF…
I rate movies different from most. I know that every movie is not made to win awards. Most for that matter aren’t. Most are made to entertain. Now while you might look at forbidden kingdom and want it to be mindblowing. Most people know that it wont hopefully and therefore I fall back on my other judgement scale. This scale consist of one question. “Was I entertained by your product?” For forbidden Kingdom I was well entertained for what was being offered. Jet li and Jackie Chan kicking ass and they had better chemistry than i was expecting on screen. I was entertained. Moreso than I have been entertained by any Underworld movie at least. It may be trash in your eyes my friend, and i respect that, but every movie cant be the greatest ever made. If Forbidden Kingdom was trash, what do you call Ewe Boll movies? (Not being a smartass. I really wanna know. I can imagine it being hilarious.)
heh well how about the fact that both stars were talking trash about the movie before it was released? As far as I’m concerned, just because a movie entertains you does not make it a good movie by any means. There are plenty of movies that I watch because they entertain me, yet I know are complete trash. Forbidden Kingdom didn’t entertain me at all and was also not very good at all.
To each his own mate. I say, if you watch a source of entertainment to be entertained and are completed in said goal, it may not be the best but it is not trash. Battlefield Earth is trash, Flesh and Bone is trash, Ewe Boll movies are trash. Trash being defined by me as something that does not entertain nor show any skill in its production value. The two actors can talk all the trash they want and Im in no way going to say its the greatest martial arts flick ever, but THEY were in it. To me that says nothing about the movie and more about their integrity. I dare not speak crap for fear of eternal head explode at the hands of these two modern legends, but if you talk crap about a movie that you were in, thats kinda shitty. They both have tons of other options and no one was twisting their arms behind their backs. I dont think anyone could, honestly. lol! All in all, meh.
