The first official look at Ruben Fleischer’s “Zombieland” follow up, “30 Minutes or Less”, has been released to the masses. Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) stars in this action comedy, along with Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, and Aziz Ansari.
Nick (Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds (McBride and Swardson). The volatile duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With mere hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship.
This sounds like a promising wrong-place-wrong-time type of comedy. The cast is great, and both Fleischer and Eisenberg have proven that they can lend a certain emotional weight to films and roles that could otherwise have been one-dimensional and flat.
“30 Minutes or Less” is scheduled to deliver August 12.
