First Look at Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince of Persia

Holy shit, Jake Gyllenhaal is friggin’ rip, kids. Seriously, who knew the cowboy from “Brokeback Mountain” had these kinds of muscles? Of course, we were all too busy trying not to squirm in our seats lest we look intolerant as we watched two dudes get it on in the movie, but nevertheless, I had no clue the kid had this in him. But check it out, set pics from Disney’s sure-to-be massive “The Prince of Persia”, starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the titular Prince, who must fight bad guys and create general whoopass in the name of Disney profits and future rides. Or something like that.

These images brought to you by the fine folks over at JustJared. Movie brought to you by the explosion-meister himself, Jerry Bruckheimer.

Gyllenhaal co-stars with Gemma Atherton in the movie, which is set for a 2010 release. Of course, that was before we knew they were already shooting this thing. Could a change to an earlier release date be far behind?

His hair looks strange. And whose hand is he holding?

Not bad. But to be quite honest, with all these trainers, instructees and cooks working 24/7 to put those Hollywood-stars in shape, it´s not a big deal anymore. Every average joe who gets this treatment would surely look like a badass after 4-6 month of training. Hell, they even made Nic Cage look like an Action-star, so everything is possible. :)

Yeah, I don’t like the hair. I agree that the muscles are no surprise. Not only are movie-makers incredible at beefing up and chiseling your average joe, but Jake has always had an impressive build, lean and very defined. In fact, his abs look less defined than normal here, probably because he’s thicker. No complaints though, he looks great.
